Coreten House Putney
Astimo provided Quantity Surveying services for the construction and fit out of this Corten steel and glass residential home in Putney. Corten weathering steel has a unique chemical composition that rusts when exposed to the weather but then stabilizes with the rust acting as a protective coating.
A plywood staircase links the floors. The walls and ceilings of the ground floor are entirely clad with high-grade lacquered birch plywood panels. All bathroom floors, walls and ceilings are clad with teak paneling designed and installed by a joinery company that specializes in fitting out yachts. The glass stair landings and rear courtyard provides natural light to show off the polished concrete floor and fair-faced concrete walls of the lower ground floor.
